Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India is a humble step aimed at providing quality education to tribal students.
The Institute caters exclusively to children of economically disadvantaged tribal families, those who are in dire need of support. These students at ITITI are offered free-of-cost residential accommodation, formal school education and free training in Information Technology.
ITITI is situated in village Jhajhra, around 12 kilometers from Dehradun Railway Station in Uttarakhand and 42.5 kilometers away from the airport. The beautiful campus is spread across a sprawling 12 area amidst Shivalik Hills.
The establishment of ITITI is a significant step for social harmony and national integration. I am sure that ITITI, the unique school for tribal children, will produce such students who will be educationally empowered and will lead India towards a new technological era. I congratulate the trustees of ITITI for realizing a new vision in the field of tribal education.
- Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Swatantrata Senani Lok Bandhu Ram Murti Pawsey Sewa Nyas Trust established on 20th December, 2000, started ITITI for the upliftment of tribal youth. Ever since the inception of this unique Institute, the Trust has focussed constructively on tribal development and upliftment.

ITITI is an endeavour towards inclusion of tribal youth of India in the digital mainstream. As we strive for a technologically-equipped and advanced society, here are some of the factors that contribute towards this aim:
The birthday of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was celebrated with enthusiasm at the tribal school in Dehradun founded and inaugurated by him in 2004. Honourable Member of Parliament Shri Naresh Bansal was the chief guest. Joint Secretary CBSE Shri Ranbir Singh was the guest of honour. Chief Patron Sahodar Vidyalaya Sangthan Sahaspur, Colonel MD Kadir, Shri Somdatt Tyagi President CBSE Schools, Dehradun and several Principals of local schools attended. Shri Naresh Bansal MP Rajya Sabha announced a grant of ten lakhs from his MPLADS fund for the school's development. Several enchanting cultural programmes were performed by the students.
