The Institute caters exclusively to children of economically disadvantaged tribal families, those who are in dire need of support. These students at ITITI are offered free-of-cost residential accommodation, formal school education and free training in Information Technology.

ITITI is situated in village Jhajhra, around 12 kilometers from Dehradun Railway Station in Uttarakhand and 42.5 kilometers away from the airport. The beautiful campus is spread across a sprawling 12 area amidst Shivalik Hills.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee
Inaugurated the Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India (ITITI) on 28th January, 2004.

The establishment of ITITI is a significant step for social harmony and national integration. I am sure that ITITI, the unique school for tribal children, will produce such students who will be educationally empowered and will lead India towards a new technological era. I congratulate the trustees of ITITI for realizing a new vision in the field of tribal education.

- Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Beginning of the Journey

Swatantrata Senani Lok Bandhu Ram Murti Pawsey Sewa Nyas Trust established on 20th December, 2000, started ITITI for the upliftment of tribal youth. Ever since the inception of this unique Institute, the Trust has focussed constructively on tribal development and upliftment.

Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.

- Swami Vivekananda
